Chakra has to do with the energy that resides in the human body.
It is part of the Hinduism and Asian cultures. It is basically a
massage that helps the body heal from the inner soul so that a
person has more energy and release any bad energy that makes a
person feel depressed. The actual word Chakra refers to “wheel
of life”. There are five traditional sources of Chakra, but some
people believe that there is eight points.
The Chakra is described as being aligned from the top of the
head down. Many people will associate a color with an aspect of
Chakra or an element of character. Chakra is thought to be
associated with the physical and emotional or mental nature of
the human body. Chakra is the energy of life and that’s why it’s
called Chakra, because it is the wheel of life. Traditional
Chinese medicines include Chakra. They believe that the Chakra
points cure all illnesses of the body. By healing the points a
person is heeled.
Many cultures believe that there are seven charkas that reflect
how the body becomes in perfect harmony and sound. The seven
points are known as the crown, third eye, heart/lung, throat,
Solar plexus, Sacrum, and root. The crown is just above the head
and is associated with the color violet. It is the dominant
color of Chakra. It’s function as a point is to connect to a
divinity.
The associated element with the crown is space. The associated
element is what the body needs to have the point work. The third
eye is associated with blue and has the primary function of
intuition. It is known as the third eye because it allows the
body to have an extra sense of perception. To have this point
working fully a person needs time. The throat is associated with
an ice blue. It is the point of self-expression and vocals. For
a person to have this they need life.
They need to feel alive and well. The heart and lung point is
associated with medium green and is where love, devotion,
compassion, and healing begins. To feel you need air, and when
you are empty or depressed it is this Chakra point that needs to
be healed. As for the solar plexus, it is light yellow and is
metal. It controls power and freedom to be oneself and it also
allows a person to have ambition. If a person feels that they
need to be more positive and out going they will need heat or
passion.
As for the sacrum, which is located within the center of the
pelvis, it is associated with light orange and controls
emotions, sexual energy, and creativity. It is the point that
makes people feel strongly about something. And finally the root
point is a light red and controls a person’s instinct or
survival. This is the last time Chakra that many massage
therapists tries to focus on.
